What counts as a check?
Each successful call to the API uses checks from your monthly allowance, whether it comes from an API key or the Playground. diff.text costs 1 check; page.compare costs 1 check; monitors.check costs 1 check; monitors.create costs 0 checks; monitors.list costs 0 checks; monitors.update costs 0 checks; monitors.changes costs 0 checks; monitors.delete costs 0 checks. Failed requests are not charged.
What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
Top-up checks are used next, if you have any. Once those are gone too, requests return a 429 monthly_quota_exceeded error until your allowance resets. On a paid plan that happens each month on the day you subscribed, monthly or yearly; on Free it resets on the 1st (UTC). Upgrading takes effect immediately.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes: Starter is $100 a year (2 months free), Pro is $500 a year (2 months free). You're billed once a year and still get the plan's checks every month, counted from the day you subscribed. Unused checks don't roll over to the next month.
Can I buy more checks without upgrading?
Yes. Buy a top-up on the Billing page: 1,000 checks for $5, or 5,000 checks for $20, paid once. Top-up checks are only used after your monthly allowance runs out, on any plan including Free, and they last 12 months from purchase.
Do I need a card for Free?
No. Sign up, create a key, and you have 300 checks a month for as long as you like. Paid plans are handled by Stripe when you're ready.
Can I cancel or change plans?
Yes. Change plans on the Billing page in your dashboard, and cancel through Manage billing (the Stripe customer portal). A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
What are the rate limits?
Free: 10/minute, 1 at a time. Starter: 60/minute, 3 at a time. Pro: 300/minute, 6 at a time. Limits apply per account across all its keys. Rate-limit and monthly-quota 429 responses include a reset_at timestamp.
